So far 48 are complete! 9.5″ x 12″. These are the beginning sketches done @ Ocean City this summer, July, 2009.
Hit NYC last Thursday for the Norman Bluhm Works On Paper Retrospective at the Jacobson Howard Gallery. (A fantastic show that will be a later blog). I stay with my good friend Pierre who has a place in Soho and there is nothing like waking up and hitting the streets in the early morning. Made my way to Crosby Street (one of my favorites) and found some cool graffiti. I miss NYC.
The Tom Thumb Gallery and Sculpture Garden, inaugural show “Why You Little So & So” @ Zodiac, Baltimore MD. Masterminded by Alix Tobey Southwick featuring 26 artists, the art is all about 2″ x 2.5″.
Finally! My concepts for making art can sometimes turn into a strange and unusual process. This blog will document my paintings through all that they transform. The painting is 56″ x 67″, mixed media on canvas, 10/2008 - 9/2009. The first photos of the sailor are of a complete version (then) which hung in my bedroom. But the more that I looked at it the more it depressed me, thus the beginning of “The Never Ending Painting”.
